Well, flu season is officially here! Yuck! I am not a fan of sickness at all. I guess it makes me appreciate my health when I have it. Cameron came home sick last Wednesday (the 6th) and has not been back to school yet. After the first trip to the doctor, we were told that he tested positive for the infleunza that is going around. No antibiotics will help that so we were sent home with prednisone and tamiflu. Today when we went back, we were sent home with singular pills, a nose spray and an inhaler. Yep! You guessed it, it has moved into his chest. He has no voice at all. THat should be interesting with show choir. He is allowed to go back to school tomorrow but was told to move slowly.

Of course, with the crazy weather who knows if we will even have school tomorrow. It started snowing during the night last night and snowed off and on all day today. It's pretty ick out there. Two friends of Cameron's slid off the road today and almost got run over by a bus that was sliding out of control. They called their Dad and he came to pick them up. While they were waiting a bus came careening towards them and clipped their front end. Anyways, the bus had hit a car with 2 teenage girls in it and then went off the road and hit them. The car that hit the bus had its front smashed in. One girl climbed out okay with just scrapes and a bloody nose but the other was unconscious so Cam's friends called the police. The EMS came and took both girls to the hospital. Anyways at last report one of the gals is on a ventilator. Please pray for the family of this gal. She is a distant cousin and her Dad is our local Youth for Christ guy.
Last week a junior at Cameron's school was accidently shot and killed. Two weeks ago a fourth grade girl was diagnosed with cancer. My heart goes out to these families. I hope that these gals will have complete recoveries but obviously this boy who was shot doesn't have that chance any more. It makes you realize how precious life is. You never really know what will happen. I'm reminded again that life is short. I have quotes on the back of my bathroom door. This is one of them and it has stood out in my mind for the last week or so. "Life is a gift. We do not earn it, can not control it, and can not take a moment of it for granted. Every tick of the clock is a gift from God."
