Well, we made our like 23rd annual trek to the campground for the 4th of July. When my grandparents were alive, we went every year. There have been a few when we've been busy with other things or out of town, but the 4th is still one of my favorite holidays to spend with family. My parents camp out at a little campground in the middle of Amish country. You can probably picture it...lots of Amish houses all up and down the road to the campground, horses and buggies, kids in blue shirts and black pants or blue dresses. The fam usually packs up some hotdogs, smore makings and some cold drinks and heads out to Amishville. This year my nephew Nathan brought a friend, my nephew Brody brought a friend, my one sister invited a gal and her daughter and her friend and my other sister invited like 20 people. Needless to say it turned into a party pretty quick. Don't know if that is what my parents intended but we had a lot of fun irregardless.
The only complaint for the evening was the fireworks, which are usually really good and last around 45 minutes. This year they lasted maybe 15 minutes and looked like someone ran out to the store down the street to pick up some cheap ones. Oh well! The rest of the time was a blast!
